This ministry helps the priest and deacon with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass.  Some ministers also go to homes, hospitals and nursing homes to bring communion either after Sunday Mass or during the week.  Eucharistic ministers are trained and scheduled by a designated coordinator.  Time commitment varies:  for Sunday, it is about an hour and a half; if you are on visitation, add another hour or two.  This is a very rewarding ministry, and you are asked to commit for two years.  You can continue if you like.
