Parish Life Center

|
It was way back in 2003-2004 time-frame that Father Dan Butler toyed with the idea of building a Parish Life Center. From that time on to this date, we have been busy with various capital campaigns, and many fund-raising activities to make this dream a reality. Here we are, eight years later, looking forward to this dream coming to a fruition.
On July 7, 2009, Bishop Ricard and the Diocesan Building Commission gave their approval to proceed with this project. Total square footage is 9,800 which will include a lage gathering area that will accommodate 600 people for Mass or Lecture; or 430 for a sit-down dinner; a kitchen, restrooms w/showers; storage facility; and a lobby.
Estimated construction cost: $1,600,000.
Four different contractors were invited to submit a bid. The contract was awarded to Thomco Enterprises, Inc., a company based in Fort Walton Beach.
Ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, immediately after the 5:00 pm Mass.
The contractor's build estimate is 270 days putting the completion date of approximately July 2010.
